What is Early Intervention (Key Worker)?
Early Intervention (EI) provides specialised support and services for infants and young children with disability and/or development delay and their families to help their development, well-being and participation in family and community life.
The aim of EI is to ensure that parents and other important adults in the child’s life can provide young children with disability and/or developmental delay with experiences and opportunities that help them gain and use the skills they need to participate meaningfully in their everyday lives.

Early Childhood Intervention (Key Worker Model) at TLC
TLC provides assessment and intervention for infants and young children with disability and/or development delay and their families within our trans-disciplinary EIT team. The EIT team (including speech pathologists, occupational therapists, counsellor, psychologist and early childhood educators) at TLC meet once a fortnight and this ensures we are working collaboratively. Families have access to a family centred, evidence based, trauma informed, neurodiversity affirming program via their Early Intervention Therapist (aka Key Worker) as well as formal assessments, specific reviews, consultations and multidisciplinary sessions where appropriate. These supports can be provided to self-managed and plan managed NDIS participants as well as privately or third party funded clients in our Milton and Bay & Basin centres as well as through visits to preschools and schools in the area.
