PEERS® Social Skills Bootcamps

PEERS® is a world leading research-based social skills training program. The focus of PEERS is in enhancing real-world skills for adolescents and young adults who experience social challenges. PEERS® has a strong evidence-base for use with adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum and is also appropriate for adolescents and young adults with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other socio-emotional problems.

The team at TLC are excited to offer our first ever series of Summer Social Skills Bootcamps.

PEERS® Bully-proofing Bootcamp – 1 Day Intensive

Wednesday 20 Jan 2021 – 10am to 2pm

This bootcamp is an evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated teens with social difficulties between the age of 12-17 years of age.

Teens will learn about:

  • Handling teasing
  • Responding to embarrassing feedback
  • Minimising Cyber bullying
  • Managing rumours and gossip
  • Handling physical bullying
  • Responding to disagreements
  • Bringing up disagreements
  • Changing a reputation

Cost $250 per participant. Self-managed and plan managed NDIS participants may be able to fund the program through their current NDIS plan.

PEERS® Friendship Bootcamp (Adolescent) 2 Day

Thursday 14 and Friday 15 January – 9am to 12pm

The 2 day intensive program teaches evidenced-based strategies covering the following:

  • Starting and entering conversations
  • Having reciprocal conversations
  • Choosing appropriate friends
  • Finding a source of friends
  • Planning and organising social gatherings
  • Responding to and bringing up disagreements

Cost $450 per participant. Self-managed and plan managed NDIS participants may be able to fund the program through their current NDIS plan.

PEERS® Dating Bootcamp (Young Adult) 2 Day

Thursday 21 and Friday 22 January – 9am to 12pm

This 2 day workshop will help prepare teens and young adults with the basic, yet detailed, steps to assist them to improve skills that will make the dating experience more adaptable. The topics covered will be improving conversational skills, letting someone know you like them, asking someone on a date, going on dates, and dating do’s and don’ts.

Cost $450 per participant. Self-managed and plan managed NDIS participants may be able to fund the program through their current NDIS plan.
